GTA 6 Trailers, Timestamped to the Real Miami Locations

Four official videos, and every one of them contains at least one frame you can stand in. Here is where each real location appears, to the second.

Downtown Miami highways, palm trees and towers at night

There are four official GTA VI videos, and they are the raw material for every location claim in existence. Here they are, with the frames that contain real, identifiable Miami geography, timestamped so you can check rather than take our word for it.

Trailer 1: December 4, 2023

Ninety seconds under Tom Petty's "Love Is a Long Road", and almost no story: a catalogue of the world. It is the video that named Leonida for the first time, and it is where most of the initial location matching began.

  • 0:11 - the yacht off the coast and the bay, with the island skyline behind.
  • 0:20 - the airboat in the tall grass. Grassrivers, and the Everglades.
  • 0:24 - the speedboats at the port. PortViceCity, and PortMiami.
  • 0:27 - the lowriders with the big rims, on a palm-lined street.
  • 0:33 - the neon strip at night. The Clevelander on Ocean Drive.
  • 0:41 - the alligator in the backyard pool.
  • 0:48 - the police bodycam raid.
  • 1:10 - the red muscle car leaving the robbery.
  • 1:16 - Lucia with the pistol, on the neon street again.

Trailer 2: May 6, 2025

Nearly twice as long as the first trailer and much closer to the story. It brought Jason for the first time, the Only in Leonida region pages, and the single densest set of real-world matches in any official footage.

  • 0:04 - the stilt house by the water and the Keys causeway. The Leonida Keys.
  • 0:07 / 0:10 - Brian Heder's boat yard and the pickup. Key Largo.
  • 0:36 - the airliner on the highway, over the airport approach. Miami International Airport.
  • 0:45 - the police scene on a downtown street.
  • 1:02 - Little Cuba and Little Haiti, with the pastel shopfronts.
  • 1:05 - the prison car park. The prison block in the game's south-west.
  • 1:15 - the bank job with the skull mask.
  • 1:28 - the nightclub. E11EVEN.
  • 1:40 - the arena with the observation wheel and the port cranes behind it. The Kaseya Center, Bayside Marketplace and PortMiami in a single frame.
  • 1:55 - the street car meet on the murals. Wynwood, the Stockyard.
  • 2:18 - the helicopter low over the swamp.
  • 2:19 - the jet skis past the yacht party. Star Island and the Flagler obelisk.
  • 2:27 - the speedboat chased by police, with the port cranes in frame.
  • 2:33 / 2:34 - the rooftop helipad tower. Jade Ocean, Sunny Isles.

An Extended Look: August 27, 2026

Twenty-six minutes and forty-eight seconds of actual gameplay, streamed on Netflix before it went to YouTube and the publisher's own site. It was never called a trailer, and in August a lot of people called it Trailer 3 anyway.

  • 8:10 - driving across Vice City, which is the cleanest continuous look at the Downtown and Brickell road layout in official footage.
  • 9:29 - the armoured truck robbery, in a city block with an arcade frontage that matches the real Downtown Miami streets.
  • 10:41 - the rooftop bar with the city behind it.
  • 17:09 - the airboat being driven in gameplay, in the wetland region.
  • 20:21 - the night street race, on a strip that follows the US-1 layout through the game's south-west.
  • 26:13 - the fishing trip on the water at the end of the swamp sequence.

The Launch Trailer: October 15, 2026

Ninety seconds, captured entirely in-game on PlayStation 5, set to "Flower in a Hurricane" by Justice with Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard. It opens on the "Welcome to The Keys" sign and closes on the logo over Vice City at night.

  • 0:03 - the Keys causeway sign and the boat storage at Brian's Marina. Key Largo.
  • 0:10 - the convertible on the causeway, with the skyline ahead. The Venetian Causeway.
  • 0:16 - the bank vault.
  • 0:24 - the chase at the airfield.
  • 0:31 - the song on the club stage.
  • 0:38 - the helicopter blown up on a rooftop.
  • 0:46 - Lucia with the grenade launcher, on the downtown street.
  • 0:55 - Raul at the port, with the cranes. PortMiami.
  • 1:04 - the sheriff chase in the swamp, on a county road.
  • 1:12 - the rooftop jump into the pool.

How to use these timestamps

Two practical notes, because this is more useful than it first appears.

  • Watch for the context, not the object. The single most useful frame in Trailer 2 is the arena at 1:40, because it contains three separate real landmarks in one composition. When you match an object you get an opinion; when you match a set of objects you get a fix.
  • Traffic moves the same way. The game's one-way grid in Downtown Miami, the causeway approach and the US-1 strip all follow real street patterns. If you know what the real road does, you can often predict what the game is showing.

Watching the trailers

All four are on the publisher's own site, and the YouTube uploads carry official subtitles. The Extended Look is age-restricted on YouTube, so watch it on the official site if you cannot sign in. We do not re-upload or mirror any footage.

Frequently asked questions

How many GTA 6 trailers are there?

Three trailers and one gameplay showcase: Trailer 1 (December 4, 2023), Trailer 2 (May 6, 2025), An Extended Look (August 27, 2026) and the Launch Trailer (October 15, 2026). The publisher calls the last one the Launch Trailer, though it is the third trailer by count.

Where is the Ocean View Hotel in Trailer 1?

At 0:33, the neon strip at night. The pink Art Deco facade and the rooftop sign are the Clevelander at 1020 Ocean Drive, Miami Beach.

Which trailer shows the most real locations?

Trailer 2, by a wide margin. It contains at least fourteen identifiable real locations, including a single frame at 1:40 that shows the arena, the observation wheel and the port cranes together.

Can I watch the GTA 6 Extended Look?

Yes, on the publisher's own site or on YouTube. YouTube age-restricts it, so you may need to sign in. It is 26 minutes of gameplay and it is the most useful official footage for location matching after Trailer 2.

Does the publisher confirm the locations shown in its trailers?

No. The trailers are promotional. Every real-world identification is the community's reading of the footage, and we label how strong each one is on our location pages.
