GTA 6 Locations in Real Life: 24 Miami and Florida Places

Twenty-four places, from the Ocean View Hotel to the Everglades airboat, each matched to a real address with coordinates and a confidence rating. This is the list to take with you.

Ocean Drive neon signs and palm trees at night, Miami Beach

No official list of the real places behind GTA VI has ever been published, and none ever will be: the studio does not annotate its own work. Everything below comes from trailer frames, from the official region descriptions on the publisher's own site, and from the mapping community's frame-by-frame analysis. We label how confident each match is, because a list that treats all twenty-four as equal is worth much less than one that does not.

How to read the confidence column

Four labels, and the difference between them is the difference between a fact and an inference.

  • Official naming. The publisher uses the real place's name in the game or in its own official copy. Little Cuba and Little Haiti are the clearest cases: the in-game name is the real name, or the game's own regional description uses it.
  • Strong. At least three independent pieces of evidence agree: the architecture, the position on the map, and the surrounding context. The Clevelander, the Kaseya Center and the Seven Mile Bridge are all in this category.
  • Community match. One or two good pieces of evidence, generally a distinctive detail, with no official confirmation and no way to check. The Rusty Anchor and the Caribbean Club are good examples: the reasoning is sound but it is not proven.
  • Community, weak. A single object with nothing to match it against beyond shape and position. We include it because excluding it would look like we had cherry-picked, but we would not build a trip around it.

The honest caveat

None of this is official. The publisher has never confirmed a single real-world location, and fan pages that present a complete location list as settled fact are reading too much into community consensus. Where we say "strong", we mean multiple independent lines of evidence agree, not that the studio confirmed it.

The Miami cluster

Most of the identifiable places are in a tight cluster, and that is the single most useful fact for anyone visiting. The game's Vice City is built on real Miami geography: a barrier island across the bay from Downtown, a causeway between them, a port on an island of its own, and an arts district two miles north of the river.

That means the twelve Miami locations are not scattered across a map. You can see nearly all of them in a single afternoon, because the real distances are short: Ocean Drive to Brickell is about four miles, Brickell to Wynwood is two, and the port sits between them on the water.

The wetland and the islands

Two of the largest matches sit outside the city. Grassrivers is the Everglades, a 1.5-million-acre wetland about 45 miles west of Downtown Miami, and the Leonida Keys are the Florida Keys, an 800-mile island chain starting 100 miles south. These are the two that make the game feel bigger than a city, and they are the two most worth a full day of your trip.

The real reason to care, though, is simpler. These are not obscure locations. They are some of the most visited places in the United States. The game's Everglades is the Everglades; the game's Seven Mile Bridge is the Seven Mile Bridge. You do not need a map of Leonida to find them, and you do not need to be a fan to appreciate them.

How we verify a match

Our process is written down and identical for every location, because a site that tells you how it reaches its conclusions is worth more than one that simply states them.

  1. Start with the official copy. The official Only in Leonida page gives a heading, a standfirst and a paragraph for each region. We quote it verbatim and treat it as the primary source.
  2. Find the frame. A match has to appear in an official video, with a timestamp we can point at, so you can check it yourself.
  3. Check the context, not just the object. The strongest matches are confirmed by the company the object keeps: the arena, the wheel and the cranes together; the obelisk visible from the water; the toll plaza's lane count.
  4. Publish the coordinates. Every location we list has a latitude and longitude, so the claim is falsifiable rather than a vibe.
  5. Say when we are unsure. Where the evidence is thin, we say so on the page, not in a footnote.

Go and stand in them

A map is the limit of what a reference site can do for you. Every location on this list is a real, publicly accessible place, and most of them are within a short drive of each other. Our small-group tour covers nine of the Miami locations in a three-hour loop, the boat tour covers the port and Star Island from the water, and the Keys trip covers the Seven Mile Bridge.

Frequently asked questions

What real locations are in GTA 6?

The most reliably identified are the Clevelander (Ocean View Hotel) on Ocean Drive, Calle Ocho in Little Havana (Little Cuba), Wynwood (the Stockyard), the Kaseya Center (Sahara Arena), E11EVEN (NINE1NINE), PortMiami (PortViceCity), Miami International Airport (Vice City International Airport), the Bayside Marketplace wheel, Star Island and the Flagler Memorial, the Jade Ocean tower, the Venetian Causeway toll plaza, Little Haiti, the Seven Mile Bridge and the Everglades (Grassrivers).

Has the publisher confirmed any GTA 6 locations?

No. The publisher has never published a list of real-world inspirations and has not confirmed any individual building. Every match is either the community's reading of official footage or, in a few cases, a name the publisher itself uses in its own regional copy.

Where is the Ocean View Hotel in GTA 6 in real life?

The Clevelander, at 1020 Ocean Drive, Miami Beach, Florida. Its pink Art Deco facade and rooftop neon sign are what the trailer shows behind the Vice Beach police stop.

Are the GTA 6 Everglades really the Everglades?

Yes. The official Grassrivers description names gators and mangroves and calls the region a primordial wetland expanse, and the Everglades is the only wetland of that scale and character in Florida.

How many locations does GTA 6 have?

Mapping projects have charted hundreds of named points across Leonida. The 24 on this page are the ones with enough independent evidence to stand behind, and we have deliberately left out the long tail of weak or single-frame guesses.
