Wynwood Arts District
The Stockyard is Wynwood. The trailer shows a street-car meet on a strip of murals and low warehouse blocks, and Wynwood is exactly that: a few dozen blocks of painted warehouses in Miami's Over-the-Riverfront neighbourhood where the street art is the point rather than a decoration. It is the densest concentration of large-format murals anywhere in the United States.

How confident are we?
The trailer shows the Stockyard as a street-car-meet strip covered in murals, matching Wynwood's warehouse blocks and painted facades.
Wynwood began as a garment and cigar district. When the manufacturing moved out, the empty warehouse shells were cheap and the walls were enormous. What happened next turned it into the single most photographed street-art neighbourhood in the country, and it is the closest real match to how the game stages the Stockyard.
What to actually look at
The core is NW 2nd Avenue between NW 25th and NW 29th Streets. The murals rotate constantly, so the single most useful piece of advice is to walk rather than drive: the painted sides of buildings on 1st and 2nd Avenue and the big warehouse walls facing NW 25th Street are the ones that last longest.
The Wynwood Walls and the adjacent parking structure on NW 2nd Avenue carry the highest-profile work, and they are open and walkable from the street. The rest of the district is a public road network with art on the buildings around it, which is why the neighbourhood is also where a lot of Miami's best small bars and coffee are now.

When to come
Walls go up and come down, but the best light for photography is late afternoon and the busiest time is Thursday to Saturday evening, when the street car meets run and the galleries open. If you want the murals with fewer people in shot, come at opening time on a weekday, when the painting crews are still working.
Where to park, honestly
Street parking in Wynwood is paid, metered and heavily policed, and the free options are on the edges rather than in the middle: the municipal lots on NW 2nd Avenue and the side streets past NW 29th Street. The fastest approach is to park once and walk the district rather than circling for a block that is closer to the wall.
Where it sits on our route
Wynwood is stop five on the Miami Vice City small-group tour, and we walk it rather than drive it: a 25-minute loop through the mural blocks with a local host who can tell you which artists are on the wall and which walls are about to come down. It is the same route the private convertible and Jeep tours run, at your pace.
Beyond the murals: the working neighbourhood
The murals are worth the walk, but the district is also a working neighbourhood with coffee roasters, a bookshop, a natural-wine bar and two of the better restaurants in Miami-Dade. If you have half a day rather than half an hour, that is what most regular visitors tell us they remember.
Frequently asked questions
Is the Stockyard in GTA 6 Wynwood?
Yes. The Stockyard is shown as a street-car-meet location lined with murals, and Wynwood is the real Miami neighbourhood with that exact combination: warehouse walls, big murals and night-time car meets. It is one of the most consistently identified locations in the game.
Do I need to pay to see the murals?
No. The street art is on public walls and public roads. The Wynwood Walls and the adjacent garage are free to walk through; the galleries and shops around them are not.
How long do you spend there?
About 25 minutes on foot, which is enough to reach the main mural blocks without turning the stop into a hike.
